Started it’s restoration journey in 2000 when it was imported into NZ as a roller with the intent of being a restomod.
We stayed true to the original intent by completing the restomod in the theme of the 2000’s version started by the then owner, Simon Potter. May well be one of the earliest Restomods started in NZ. This build pre-dates aftermarket chassis and tech solutions.
The besboke chassis was hand built to suit the C4 Corvette independent front and rear suspension by the late Pete Dore along with underbody mods, North Shore.
Additional chassis work to gain LVVTA build compliance done by Greg Stokes along with exhaust system and initial suspension set up, Auckland.
Chassis completion work and full rotisserie body work and paint completed by Maurice Leonard Restorations, Hastings.
Chassis stripped of all suspension and drivetriain by owner then powder coated. Chassis re-assembled including addition of all fuel, brake and oil lines by owner.
Full rewire of engine bay and ECU, fuse panel and lights and HP tune by Aaron Wilkie of Revolution Electrical, Hastings
Interior upholstery, custom seat modifications, carpets and finishing trim by Colin Lindsay of Coastal Automotive Interiors, Hawkes Bay.
While the whole project has taken 26 years under two custodians, for us this has been a challenging 7 year project and wouldn’t have been possible without the skills of the great team who assisted us:
Maurice Leonard Restorations – Maurice & Dennis Leonard – Hastings.
Coastal Automotive Interiors – Colin Lindsay – Haumoana, Hawkes Bay
GMS Hotrods – Greg Stokes – Auckland
Revolution Electrical – Aaron Wilkie – Hastings
MS Vehicle Certification – Mark Stokes – Pukekohe
Richard Hibbert – for unwavering optimism & support
Thank you all 👌
